Welcome to the Claybrooke History and Heritage Group, a community dedicated to exploring the rich and layered past of Claybrooke Magna, Claybrooke Parva and the surrounding villages. Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, our group is here to uncover, preserve and share the heritage that has shaped our community and continues to influence it today.

Every village has stories to tell, of the people who lived and worked here, the buildings and landscapes that have changed over time, the traditions that have been passed down through generations, and the events that have left their mark on local life. Our aim is to bring those stories to life and make local history accessible, enjoyable and relevant to everyone via out monthly talks and group.

Claybrooke History and Heritage Group is committed to  sharing the rich tapestry of our local past. Through engaging monthly talks and annual visits, we aim to connect residents and visitors with the stories of Claybrooke and its neighbouring villages.

We believe that history is about far more than dates and old documents. It is found in family memories, photographs, maps, buildings, landscapes, personal stories and the everyday lives of those who came before us. By bringing these fragments together, we can build a richer picture of how our villages developed and celebrate the people and places that make them distinctive.

We also hope to encourage people across the community to become part of that story. Whether you have lived locally all your life, have recently moved to the area, are researching your family history or are simply curious about the place around you, there is always something new to discover.
